Prof. Nancy W. MungaiProgram Coordinator, TAGDev 2.0
Prof. Nancy W. Mungai is a professor of soil science with research interests in biological nitrogen fixation in grain legumes, biological agricultural inputs, and relevance of soil-based approaches for adaptation & mitigation to climate change. She has successfully coordinated twelve research projects and several student internship programs. Prof. Mungai coordinated the project titled "Transforming African Agricultural Universities to meaningfully to contribute to Africa’s growth and development for eight years (2016-2024) whose success and impact has led to TAGDev 2.0 , which has been scaled to 10 other universities. TAGDev 1 supported 188 undergraduate and postgraduate students to pursue various agricultural related disciplines including agronomy, horticulture, agribusiness and food nutrition and animal nutrition. TAGDev 1 piloted an innovative model for agricultural training that facilitates agricultural students to work closely with rural communities to foster transformation of the agrifood system at several levels starting with the individual student/staff level, institutional level and at community level. Community action research approaches have been at the center of TAGDev program implementation.
Prof. Patience MshengaAssistant Coordinator TAGDev 2.0
PROF. PATIENCE MLONGO MSHENGA is the Assistant TAGDev 2.0 at Egerton University Program Coordinator. She is a Professor of Agribusiness Management at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management and the current Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Egerton University, with a key interest in agribusiness development, she has supervised many graduate students. She has extensive skills and experience in models for strengthening micro, small and medium scale enterprises including entrepreneurial development as well as farm and non-farm linkages
Virginia W. NjugunaAssociate Program Officer
Virginia W. Njuguna is the Associate Program Officer for TAGDev 2.0 program supporting the Program Coordinator in the day-to-day management and operations of the TAGDev program at Egerton University. She previously served as the TAGDev program Administrator for 8 years (2016-2024). She is an agronomist who is passionate about sustainable agriculture, leveraging her expertise to optimize crop production, conserve natural resources, and promote food and nutritional security
Godfrey Obwina AtsiayaGender Safeguards and Careers Officer
With a PhD and MSc in
Agricultural Economics from Egerton University, he specializes in climate change, agricultural
value chains, entrepreneurship, and project management. His expertise also includes
community mobilization and project monitoring and evaluation. In his current role, Atsiaya
focuses on policy-making, training, and advocacy to maintain a fair and supportive
environment. Previously, he was an Administrative Assistant for TAGDev 1.0, supporting
business incubation, student welfare, and technical reporting.
Kipngetich C. ShadrackMonitoring And Evaluation Officer
Kipngetich C. Shadrack is the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the TAGDev 2.0
program, responsible for the implementation of systems, tools and mechanisms that aid in
the monitoring, evaluation and documentation of learning from TAGDev 2.0. He previously
worked as a TAGDev 1.0 Program Assistant. He is a soil scientist passionate about
sustainable agricultural production for improved agricultural production, climate change
mitigation and enhanced food security

Fahad JumaBusiness Development Officer
Fahad Luttah Juma is a business development professional with vast experience in facilitating youth in
identifying and capitalizing on entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship opportunities. He has extensively
worked in designing and implementation roles of projects focused on entrepreneurship education
curriculum development and business incubation. He actively employs his management, research,
market research, lead generation, marketing, and strategic partnerships competencies in facilitating
venture creation and acceleration.
