Agricultural extension and advisory services

Farm advisory

Under TAGDev 2.0, student advisory services play a pivotal role in shaping future agripreneurs and innovators. The program provides tailored mentorship, career guidance, and entrepreneurial training to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in agribusiness and rural development. By fostering linkages with industry experts, agribusiness mentors, and research institutions, TAGDev 2.0 ensures that students receive practical exposure and are better prepared to address real-world challenges.

These advisory services empower students to lead transformative solutions in the agri-food sector, contributing to sustainable development and job creation.

Under TAGDev 2.0, aims at enhancing agricultural extension and advisory services to contribute to improving livelihood of at least 68,500 farmers in Kenya in three value chains namely Potato Value Chain, Cassava Value Chain and the Dairy Value Chain.

Skilling the young women and men and supporting their certification for active participation in the agri-food system is a key desired outcome of TAGDev 2.0. The program targets to support 40 Trainer of trainees in efforts to strengthen agricultural extension and advisory and encourage the smallholder farmers shift from subsistence agriculture to farming as a business.
