Cooperatives
TAGDev 2.0 will prioritize comprehensive capacity building and skills development across all sectors necessary for strengthening farmer cooperatives. The program will provide targeted training in key areas such:
- Cooperative governance
- Financial management
- Business planning
This will ensure that cooperative leaders are equipped to make informed decisions and manage resources effectively.
Skills development will also focus on enhancing the technical capabilities of cooperative members, including the adoption and application of 15 climate-adaptive Technologies, Innovations, and Management Practices (TIMPs) to improve agricultural productivity and resilience. Specialized training in sustainable farming techniques, crop diversification, and soil management will be provided to help farmers build more resilient and profitable operations.
In addition, the program will offer capacity building in market access and value chain development, teaching cooperatives how to effectively negotiate with buyers, access new markets, and add value to their products. Financial literacy and access to credit will also be a key focus, helping cooperatives manage funds, invest in technology, and scale their operations. Through these multifaceted skill-building efforts, TAGDev 2.0 will transform cooperatives into well-managed, sustainable entities that drive economic empowerment and rural development.
